FAQ

What does CC Switch do, and what does cocodot provide?

CC Switch manages local AI-tool and provider configuration. cocodot provides the API endpoint, API key, model access, and account balance. They are separate products.

Can I import a cocodot configuration into CC Switch?

Yes for Claude Code: the cocodot dashboard creates a disabled CC Switch import with a public placeholder. Paste the real key locally before enabling it. Codex currently uses a short manual checklist because protocol routing must be enabled.

Why does Codex require local routing?

Codex speaks the OpenAI Responses protocol, while the cocodot OpenAI-compatible endpoint currently exposes Chat Completions. CC Switch converts between them when Codex routing is enabled.

Does the import URL contain my API key?

No. cocodot puts only a public placeholder in the import URL and leaves the provider disabled. Your real key should be pasted inside CC Switch on your device.
